Spandera Studio

About

The studio, and what it believes.

A small studio in Portugal. A philosophy that runs through everything.

Spandera Studio builds bespoke websites, web apps, and AI tools for small and medium businesses.

That sentence covers what the studio sells. Everything beyond it is about how, and why.

The name comes from Spanda.

The studio is named after Spanda — a principle from Kashmir Shaivism describing the creative pulse through which reality is continuously made. The idea is that nothing is static. Form arises from vibration. Thought becomes matter. The world is something being built, moment to moment.

That's a strange thing to put on the About page of a software studio. It belongs there because it describes the work. Custom-built software is form arising from intent. A site fitted to a business, an app fitted to the way the business actually works, an AI tool fitted to a specific job — each is a small instance of the same creative principle. Something formless, given form, with care.

The studio's founder spent years studying these ideas in India — in meditation ashrams, through Kashmir Shaivism, yoga philosophy, and Advaita Vedanta. The philosophy is real. It shapes how the work happens.

This is how Spanda manifests today.

For a long time, the gap between an idea and a working version of it was enormous. Too much money, too much code, too many specialists between the person with the vision and the thing itself. Small businesses lived with that gap — settling for templates, shelving the idea, or paying an agency too much to build something they didn't quite want.

That gap is closing. AI changes what's possible for a small studio working with care, and it changes what's possible for the client. Ideas that would have needed a year and a small fortune can be built properly in weeks. Custom systems, bespoke tools, sites that fit the business exactly — all of it within reach.

This is how Spanda manifests today. The creative pulse finding form, faster, with less between the idea and the thing. The limit is no longer money or code. The limit is the idea itself.

One studio, end to end.

Spandera works with small and medium businesses that have outgrown templates and aren't well-served by big agencies. The work is custom-built, end to end — strategy, design, build, and the intelligent systems behind it.

One studio. One point of contact. No juniors learning on your project. No agency layers between you and the person building the thing.

Four practices: Sites, Apps, Intelligence, Care. Each stands alone and connects to the others. A client might start with a site and add an AI tool six months later. Another might commission a custom app and keep Spandera on Care to evolve it as the business grows.

The practical part.

Spandera is based in Belverde, Portugal — on the south bank of the Tagus, about thirty minutes from central Lisbon. The studio works with clients anywhere; most communication is remote, with calls scheduled in the morning UK / European working hours.

Engagements are typically fixed-fee for project work, with a six-month minimum on Care retainers. Every project starts with a short, paid discovery phase before any larger commitment.

Prices are visible on the services page. No "contact us for a quote" games — what a project will cost should not be a riddle.
